John Jackson left school in 1956 and commenced work in the family butchering business learning many skills including labouring, slaughtering, boning, sheep skin handling, truck driving and sales. These skills and John’s ability to capture an opportunity, his ability to identify and manage the skills of his team, his incredible energy and enthusiasm and his communication expertise led to the establishment and growth of the Country Fresh Group of Companies. When John sold CFA in 2010 it included Southern Queensland Exporters and the very successful, high tech Peel processing 40000/45000 units per week and employing over 600 people. This sale gave John the opportunity to add to his rural holdings in the New England region and to the establishment of Jackson Agriculture, which now operates on 20,000 acres of prime New England country fattening up to 10,000 head of cattle and 7,000 lambs each year.
